Soft Tip Shapers Cake Decorating Unique Tools

So I was taken hostage the other day, strapped to a chair with barbed wire, suspended by the thinnest rope EVER, over a pit of, like, the most GINORMOUS bloodthirsty spiders anyone has ever laid eyes upon, and told that if I didn't start listing what my favorite cake tools are, the rope would be instantly cut and I'd be the newest version of a spider Happy Meal!

Obviously, I agreed to tell all. I mean, I'm tough… but I DON'T do spiders.

(Ok, maybe that's the tiniest exaggeration… but someone DID ask, and I really DO hate spiders. A lot.)

So, I thought I'd just write up a series of quick blog posts on a few of my FAAAAAVorite things.

(The shapers, soft size 6 or size 10 for me, helped me straighten out all of my lines once I attach my chocolate or fondant pieces for this project.)

Today, and to start, I feel the need to tell you about my color shapers . I was introduced to them in a Kaysie Lackey class that I attended last year. I was convinced of their worth and I bought a few. And a few more… and then just a few more.

(You can run them along the edges of your fondant/gumpaste/chocolate cut outs, and they smooth and straighten everything right up!!  No more squiggly lines and fuzzy edges!!)

And now, THEY ARE INDISPENSABLE to my happiness. If I was stranded on a desert island and didn't have them, I would prolly just curl into a ball and let death take me to my maker. Yeah. They're that good.

(I used the size 0 color shapers to smooth out the edges in between the tiny nooks and cracks of this project.)

In short, color shapers make it possible to smooth out ANY and ALL lines/edges on your creation- cut fondant/modeling chocolate pieces, the bottom edge of your covered fondant cake… all of the places your too big fingers have never been able to fit. They also help when modeling characters… faces, bodies, clothes… I can't even THINK of an area in which I don't use them. They make your work a MILLION times more "clean". And in this business, we all know how "clean" is is coveted.

They are perfect for making creases in your sugar "clothing" and are amazing to use for sculpting faces, hands feet… just about EVERY part of sculpting ANYTHING.  They also are brilliant at blending in seams on modeling chocolate projects!!

In short, they have changed my life. My world is better place because of them. They.complete.me.

I have a soft set in each of three sizes… 0, 6 and 10. And I shall never give them up. Not EVEN if I am suspended over a pit of human sized spiders.

I could so some SERIOUS damage to spider eyes with my shapers.

DON'T test me. Xx

And guess what??  I've tried out a new brand of color shapers, called "Sugar Shapers" made by a company called "Sugarworks"!

The shapers are soo cool, and you get TWO sizes on one shaper!  LOVE them… and now use them for almost EVERY project I make.

AAAAND you can get 10% off by entering the coupon code "SHAWNAMCGREEVY10" into the discount code box at checkout!!  (That's ^^^ meee!! 😉 )

They're one of the best tools I have in my stockpile… and while they're definitely an investment, remember that these new ones have TWO sized tips on one stick… so DEFINITELY worth it.  (And the sizes are about a size 6 and size 10 which are the sizes I use the most!)

And now, Sugarworks has them available in size 0 and 2 as well!  (Again, both on one stick!)  Perfect to help sculpt the faces of figures!

SQUEEEEEE!!!!
